Join Dr. Alice Taylor-Colbert as she discusses the various Indigenous groups’ role during the American Revolution. Taylor-Colbert, American historian with a focus on the south and Cherokee studies examines the complexities, perspectives, and experiences of Native peoples during the Revolution.
While this presentation focuses on the Cherokee, it also offers experiences and perspectives of other Indigenous Nations, including Muscogee, Catawba, Pee Dee, and others. The conflict resulted in a constitutional government established in 1787, the United States. What happened to the Indigenous peoples?
