The Artimus Pyle Band at the Newberry Opera House

Experience an unforgettable evening of Southern rock as The Artimus Pyle Band takes the stage at the Newberry Opera House on October 2, 2026. Led by legendary drummer and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Artimus Pyle, the band honors the enduring legacy of Ronnie Van Zant and the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd lineup with an authentic performance of the songs that defined a generation.

As the last surviving member of Skynyrd’s iconic 1970s lineup, Pyle brings a rare level of authenticity to every performance. Joined by an accomplished group of veteran musicians—including members of the Rossington Collins Band and the Charlie Daniels Band—the Artimus Pyle Band faithfully recreates the unmistakable sound of Southern rock classics like “Free Bird,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Simple Man,” and many more.

The band continues to celebrate Skynyrd’s legacy both on stage and in the studio. Their acclaimed album Anthems features collaborations with music legends including Dolly Parton, Sammy Hagar, Ronnie Dunn, and the late Gary Rossington, while their work has also appeared on Dolly Parton’s Rockstar album and the film Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash.

Whether you’re a lifelong Lynyrd Skynyrd fan or simply appreciate timeless Southern rock, this concert delivers an authentic tribute to one of America’s most influential bands. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience these legendary songs performed by the drummer who helped create their iconic sound.
