Looking for family-friendly things to do in Pelion, SC, this November? Celebrate one of the community’s favorite fall traditions at the 45th Annual Pelion Peanut Party, a weekend celebration featuring carnival rides, live entertainment, local crafters, festival food, fireworks and plenty of boiled peanuts.

The Pelion Peanut Party brings the community together for two days of family-friendly fun, with amusement rides, vendors, carnival food and live entertainment throughout the weekend. Visitors can also enjoy a s’mores pit and an exciting fireworks show as part of the festivities.

Of course, no Peanut Party would be complete without plenty of boiled peanuts. Come hungry and enjoy this classic South Carolina snack while exploring everything the festival has to offer.

Peanut-Inspired Dessert Contest

Home bakers and dessert lovers can put their creativity to the test in the Peanut Party dessert contest. This year’s theme is peanut-inspired desserts, with categories for cakes and cupcakes, pies and pastries, cookies and bars, no-bake treats, and a special kids’ category for ages 12 and under.

Contest entries should incorporate peanut butter, roasted peanuts, candied peanuts or other peanut-inspired ingredients. Entries can be dropped off at the Pelion Community Center from 4–6 p.m. on Friday, November 6, with judging beginning at 7 p.m. The entry fee is $5.

Whether you’re looking for things to do with kids, a fun fall festival or a taste of small-town South Carolina, the Pelion Peanut Party is a local tradition worth celebrating.
