USC Department of Theatre and Dance Presents "The Courage to Right a Woman's Wrongs"

Experience a witty and subversive 17th-century comedy from Ana Caro, one of Spain’s most revered female playwrights. One of only two surviving plays by Caro, The Courage to Right a Woman’s Wrongs follows Doña Leonor after she is cast aside by the faithless Don Juan. Determined to restore her honor, Leonor disguises herself as a skilled swordsman named Leonardo and sets out to bring her former lover to justice.

Filled with romance, intrigue and sharp social commentary, this modern translation of Caro’s pioneering work delivers a fast-paced theatrical adventure about courage, identity and a woman reclaiming her agency in a world designed to deny it.
