The Charleston Area Out of the Darkness Walk https://afsp.org/Charleston hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention https://afsp.org (AFSP) is a community event to raise awareness and provide resources for suicide prevention, help remove the stigma on mental health, and provide hope to the community. Event registration is free.
The venue will open at 12:30 p.m. for event activities including supporter tables with giveaways, a silent auction, local team mascots, adoptable pets, and more. A short event program will start at 2:00 p.m. followed by the walk. The walk is ~1 mile on a paved path around the Gahagan Park athletic field in Summerville. This is a family-friendly event. Leashed pets are welcome.
Donations are used to support AFSP programs. Fundraising is not required but is appreciated. Event t-shirts will be provided to registrants that raise $150 or more.
